CTV The National Stanley Cup
Last night, The Canadian Encyclopedia’s Editor in Chief James Marsh was on CTV National News, talking about the most Canadian of subjects – hockey! More specifically, the Stanley Cup and it’s history of bumps, bruises, and survival in the midst of euphoric, sometimes drunken, celebrations. Its handling has been less than ceremonious: it’s been drop-kicked into the Rideau Canal, left and forgotten in a snow bank, slept with, dunked into pools, stolen twice, and used as a food bowl.
